Newcastle-based talent Ruth Lyon has dropped a new single in the form of ‘Clown’. It’s a self-aware track that wanders along at a steady pace, with lilting piano work following a light, quick drum pattern. The track, which is part of her new EP, Direct Debit To Vogue, is accompanied by a perfect music video created by Antonia Luxem and Tegid Cartwright. She says: “I adore making videos but we always have a dilemma - how to portray the story and the movement without me being able to actually move that much? This is the first time I have used a mobility aid front and centre in my creative work and we had many discussions on how to frame it. We wanted to explore this idea of the inner clown; the line ‘though I may be bound down, I’m bonded to my own clown’.” Direct Debit To Vogue drops on November 26th, 2022. -Dan Peeke.
